Геологический музей
The museum was established in 1936 by the Far-Eastern industrial geological association on the basis of the museum collection of the 30-th years. Such exhibits as lunar ground delivered to the Earth by automatic stations "Moon-16", "Moon-20", "Moon-21", fragments of the largest iron meteorite which has fallen in Sikhot-Ailin mountains in 1947, and other interesting exhibits are exposed in the "General geological processes" department.
About 600 kinds of minerals are systematized in the "Mineralogy" department. There are mineral raw materials from Priamurye in the "Minerals resources" department. The methods of remote geophysical and geochemical researches, also mechanisms, tools and equipment with prospecting works are represented in the "Technique and engineering" department.
The museum is located in a brick building - monument of architecture of the beginning of the 19th century. The first guild merchant - Plyusnin Vasili Fyedorovich, bought this area in 1895.
In 1922 the private residence was handed over the administration of the national education department. In 1920-1950 Hertsen high school was located there, and till 70-th years there was a children's home. Since 1977 the geological museum is located there.
